Death, Dying, and Assisted Suicide. PART 1
One of my favorite songs. My uncle passed away today from colon cancer and I’ve been listening to this song and it’s been very comforting. He was an incredible surgeon who saved many many lives. I’m going to miss him so much… But he is now in Heaven with my dad and grandpa. They’re having a blast around the throne of God singing this song. What a wonder. Our God is mighty to save and I am honored that he would take care of my family in His presence.

Many things have filled my mind this evening, namely a pastor in Iraq who was put to death for converting from Islam to Christ… You can read about it if you google him… I’m sure you have heard of it.
He was given chances time after time to renounce his faith in Christ and even until the end he absolutely refused. He would not recant his confession but died an apostate in a country that is starved of the gospel. What a title… an “Apostate”… Usually when I hear the word “apostate”, I think of someone who is a believer in Christ and then turns from the Lord… Never have i seen it as a good word… But in this context it is beautiful… In their eyes, he is a heretic, a dead man, an apostate… But In Christ’s eyes… he is a Son of the Most High… how remarkable.
I can’t get this pastor out of my head. He is with the Lord now, and his death will bring many to the faith just as his persecution already has. I remember reading about it on facebook and I immediately laid out on the floor, face to the carpet, and wept for him… crying out to God for this man, praying that the Lord would give him comfort, strength, and peace. Now we need to pray for his family and all of our brothers and sisters in Christ that are left with out a pastor. We need to pray that the Lord will continue to bring in the harvest in Iraq, that He will raise up pastors to continue to preach the good news of Jesus in that land.
I’m reminded of my job and who I am to my very core… At a cellular level… I am human, and I am a Christian… I am SEVERELY human… and I am INCREDIBLY redeemed. I’m reminded that when Christ has called us to be his witnesses… even unto death. To preach the Gospel with our every breath until our last. MY GOD I FEEL SO SHAKEN BY THIS PASTORS EXAMPLE… To be compelled by the Love of Christ is what I desire every day… to be compelled to follow through with my calling… whatever may come… My calling to preach the Gospel…. my calling to be a witness…
I read a dialog of his in an article… He was speaking to the judge and this is how it went…
[He said:”You ask me to recant. Recant means to return. What do you wish me to return to? The blasphemy that I was in before Christ?”
The judges responded, “To the religion of your ancestors, Islam.”
Youcef replied, “I cannot.”]
He is with the Lord now because he simply COULD NOT DENY HIS GOD!!! What JOY!!! What Joy for those whose hope is in the name of the Lord! What peace for those whose confidence is in HIM! How beautiful.
The Word says “taste and see that the Lord is good”… This pastor grew up following doctrines of demons, and when he was able to taste and see the that Lord was good… haha… there was NO GOING BACK!
What joy… what peace… what confidence…
That is our God!
Thank you Pastor, my brother for reminding me and for setting an example to the saints of how to live… and how to die… consistent.
This is a human video (skit) that my friends and I did at my public high school’s talent show my senior year. Lives were changed and people were saved that night. After the performance, when we went back stage there were so many people who came back stage to talk to us. I prayed with girls in an elevator room to accept the Lord as her savior. This skit depicts how Christ took the punishment for our sins and sickness and diseases. You will see that, when he heals the people in the skit, he takes the sickness upon him… And when He is resurrected, the payment is complete and He still heals today!
What I am saying before the skit is “For God so loved the world, and (my high school’s name), that he gave his only son…”
Then at the end I say “that he gave his only son, that whosoever would believe in him, (My High School’s name), He gave his son for you! So that none would perish, that you wouldn’t perish, but have everlasting, everlasting, everlasting, life.”

idk of many people who know the exact date they conceived. lol maybe we should make that mandatory! ha
